Dear Family and Friends,

25th May 2015

Hopefully the best of Nuku Hiva, once again I am spoiled for choice, I would never do as an editor!

View over  Taiohae Bay from the caldera rim. The super yacht you can just about make out in the centre, with crew, some 100+ feet in length, has its own seaplane on the stern, how cool is that!

Our tour vehicle run by Richard, do use him if you come this way, he does an excellent tour.

Although it is often misty and humid, you can gather some sense of the majesty of the Taipivai Valley, setting for Herman Melville’s best seller ’Typee.

Taipivai Valley

Controller Bay, location of  the 2000/2001 survivor programme. Richard our guide instructed the ‘survivors’ in some survivor techniques including how to build a pig pit to capture the wild pigs. They built theirs between high and low water!

Are you packing your bags yet? Hatiheu beach.

Hatiheu valley.

All our best,

Lynne and Alan
