It's been almost a week since I am back on Knotty Girl with Roberto - time flies indeed !! I arrived on September 17th in Poros as a little princess since I disembarked from my “Flying Cat 6”  there and was welcomed by my captain Roberto and brought back to Knotty Girl which was already ALL prepared by Roberto. Indeed Roberto arrived in Kilada Yard a week earlier to supervise some work we did on KG, put it in the water and motored to Poros to fetch me ! The day I arrived it was our 6th anniversary that day which we celebrated with Select Spritz and a dinner in a nice Greek Taverna.

The next day we had a nice sail to Epidavrou where we stopped overnight before passing again the Corinth canal - always a great experience. The canal had just re-opened after having been closed for nearly 2 years and still we could see there was a lot of ongoing work being done there!

We anchored in a very nice bay "Ormos Sarande” in the Corinth Golf. A great place to swim. Yet given that the wind during the night came the opposite way as it was forecasted, we did get a bit of swell which was not too comfortable during the night.

We then motored to Galaxidi and stopped in the harbour of this charming authentic village with a long tradition of naval history. Indeed seamen coming from all the Mediterranean came there to seek refuge. Galaxidi is ideally located to go and visit the archeological site of Delphi so the next day we made it a “cultural day” and visited the ruins of Delphi. The site resides in amazing mountainous surroundings! its museum is also very worth visiting ! We were lucky since as we finished our visit, the rain started to pour!

"Ancient Greeks believed that Delphi was the Navel of the Earth, a place seen as a spiritual focal point for all Greeks; it included many sanctuaries and the most prestigious oracle in all of ancient Greece. This is where Pythia, the high priestess, uttered the divine advice of god Apollo to mortals who travelled from across the world to seek a prophecy. Apart from Greeks, the Oracle was visited also by foreign leaders and dignitaries who were anxious to know the will of Apollo on important state affairs.”

We then walked in the streets of Arachova, a village close to Parnassus ski centre! Coming from Switzerland, it was weird to see ski shops and ski hats :)

Roberto had read that the Osios Loukas monastery was worth visiting and indeed it was!!! I loved its architecture. Indeed, it is one of the most important monuments of Middle Byzantine architecture and art and one of UNESCO’s World Heritage site. We arrived 15 minutes before they closed (3.30 pm) so had to “rush” to visit it which was a bit of a pity, yet we could feel the good vibes in this place. I could ALMOST picture myself reflecting / meditating in this place :)

When we came back to the boat we had new neighbours, one of them Swiss of origin, yet currently and since 20 years living in Turkey and his son on Calypso sailing boat. We invited them over for drinks and heard interesting stories.

We are currently sailing with the wind on the back our main sail and Genoa out towards Lepanto - on our way to Zakinthos were we are to pick up a friend.
