After a nice sail - as I said in my previous blog - we arrived in Anafi were we anchored in front of the harbour (as the harbour is currently being widened and hence a lot of works are ongoing) were only a couple of small fishing boat can moor or now. We took our dinghy which we attached next to an old rusted crane in this small harbour before starting on foot the ascension to the Chora (why are all these villages so high up I wonder… :) - a walk of about 30 minutes up the hill to arrive in, at the moment, what I call a “ghost" chora, yet with a lot of charm and which, when open (the season starts next Monday), must be a bit more animated. A very different atmosphere and a great contrast to that of Santorini for sure - very authentic and NOT touristic at all (no hotels, but a couple of room rentals). We feel that during the season hikers must come as the hiking tracks are well marked and there seem to be a lot of them. A secluded island not so well regarded by sailors as they rarely anchor there.

Coming down, the mini-market of the harbour was open, which surprised us !

When we arrived we were the only one in the small bay in front of the harbour but when we came back from our little excursion we had company. A relatively big greek sailing boat !

This morning on our way to our first Dodecanese Island of Astypalaia, we went along Anafi’s South-East coast and saw very nice beaches - yet without shade, hence our thought was that if this island would be more developed it could attract more tourists, yet not sure that this is what the few inhabitants of this island want !!!
