We spent a couple of days - that resembled more as a real leisure cruise - navigating and visiting places in the Kotor Bay. In particular we :

- Anchored in front of the picturesque islands opposite Perast : The natural islet of St. George - home to a Church of the same name and of the ruins of a Benedictine monastery which we could see from our dinghy ride. The other island, the islet of Our Lady of the Rock was formed by piling stones around a large underwater rock. A small church is there which contains silver votive tablets and other treasures brought by seamen after storms at sea.
- Were about to look at the mosaic in Risan but as we arrived the shop closed - literally in front of our eyes ! It seems that welcoming tourists is not their priority…
- Had a aperif in the main square of the tiny old town of Herceg Novi
- Visited, with the dinghy, the submarine pen - an 80 or so meter long tunnel where a submarine could hide during and after WWII
- Had a nice lunch in the posh harbour of Tivat

What a change for us NOT to be due somewhere at a certain time, to be able to do some maintenance work on a relaxed schedule, being able to read, to play cards / games in the evening !!

Yet tomorrow, June 1st we depart for Croatia - 30 miles with most likely - guess what ? Head winds...
