On 11th June - after 19 days of cruising with our friends Julia & Julian, we had to say goodbye to them in Trogir and wish them the very best for their next sailing trip back home - from Panama to Australia !

We took the opportunity to visit the charming old town of Trogir built on a small island. Even if most of the walls surrounding the town are no longer in place, many medieval houses, narrow street, churches are worth wandering around and visit. We even decided to have a romantic dinner in the highly recommended trip advisor “ Vanjaka” restaurant and it was very enjoyable !

As it happens, just before departing for our sailing trip planned a couple of months back, we learnt that, in a happy coincidence, one of my niece (Tamryn) and her boyfriend (Will) were doing some home office from Croatia for a couple of months ! And furthermore that when we were planning to be sailing in between Dubrovnik and Split, Tamryn’s sister, Ainhoa would be visiting them. So we were able to embark them in Marina Sejet (Baotic) for a week-end onboard Knotty Girl - a first experience of an overnight stay in a sailing boat for all of them.

They stoically experienced sailing upwind for 3 hours - even said they “loved it” ! Definitively enjoyed watching the scenery while motoring, jumping in the sea before breakfast, eating & sleeping onboard, showering on Knotty Girl back outside platform, going on speedy dinghy rides, swimming on clear blue water.

On our end, it was wonderful to have young adults onboard, to hear them laugh, to listen to their play list, to hear about their future plans, to play games during the evening (thing that we rarely do), to have to think about answers to their thoughtful questions, to watch them take advantage at what life has to offer and to witness their good education - as always wanting to give Roberto or myself a hand.

In sum, I believe they would return without hesitation and we would welcome them again without hesitation, hence a win-win week-end :)
