… that Croatia has its own “St-Tropez” - namely Otok Hvar - which claims to be the sunniest spot in all of Europe (this I admit I have doubts about), yet a popular holiday destination and this I believe strongly :)

We were not able to visit the entire island, but were able to spend a couple of hours in Hvar City - a very picturesque and historic town - with NO vehicles allowed making it very nice to wander around. Also a very busy and chaotic harbour where all kinds of boats go in and out a regular basis (mega yacht, taxi boats, cruise boats, flottille, private motor and sailing boats…). We therefore decided to anchor in a bay at 15 minutes dinghy ride from Hvar City and where the "Restaurant Moli Onte” has a number of moorings and it was the RIGHT choice as the bay was just magnificent, clear shallow sea for swimming and a very special restaurant which we went to on that very evening. We took dishes for 2 but we could almost have fed an army with it :) - yet delicious fresh fish which we have to eat at restaurants as we are still not successful in our fishing trials :(
