Croatia with its many islands is a paradise for sailors in “normal” times and obviously during the holiday season, so being able to sail in this country early June in “COVID” time is just a treat as we are able to anchor in beautiful bay BY OURSELVES !

Arriving from Montenegro, we stopped in Cavtat - a port of entry to Croatia. As we had a strong North-West wind, mooring along the quay was a bit nerve wrecking and our friend Julian was “on watch” while we waited for Roberto to be able to organise the clearance for all of us. We then anchored in Uvala Tiha for the night in order to be able to visit Cavtat and do a nice “passeggiata” around the peninsula where we stopped in a bar with an amazing view on the sea for an aperitif.

The next day we motored (sic) to the island of “Otocic Lokrum" opposite Dubrovnik for lunch in the bay of Uvala Portoc. We visited the Benedictine monastery, the fortress and other ruins and were able to take some incredible shots of Dubrovnik from there !

We then continued motoring to Uvala Sunj - a very nice bay on Lopud island, where we spent the night with only one neighbour! Swimming in the fresh clear sea the next morning was just magnificent and then off we sailed to Dubrovnik Marina.

We spent the next day visiting Dubrovnik - a “must see” old town. In particular the tour on the medieval walls, the Cathedral - from the outside mainly, the Onofrio’s fountain, the Bell tower and bell lounge, etc. - SO MUCH to see and with a FEW tourists, certainly the best moment to be a tourist in this town !
