The red mountains…

41:48.77N 08:46.24E Departing from Calvi we went along the West Coast towards
Girolata – this part of the cost, from Calvi to Cartagese is most impressive and
of breath-taking beauty as it is rugged and bright red cliffs protrude from the sea backed by green and gray mountains
which reach up to nearly 3,000 meters. Honestly, one of the most beautiful
coast I have ever seen and we took a boyed in Girolata – a must go place in
that particular coast line, even if when swimming in the colorful blue waters
we discovered with disappointments that there were more plastic than fishes in
that place… After a good night sleep we then continued south admiring the different layers and colors of the mountains and stopped for lunch in front of Plage de Perou a place that has nothing to envy to the Caribe – and with, as background noise the “grillons” – which reminded me of our nights Camping in Corsica ! This morning Paolo declared it was “Tuna day”, meaning we were to fish tuna – yet tonight I had to prepare a chicken curry…. – well we are NOT loosing faith… While arriving in the Gulf of Ajaccio I taught my yoga teacher how to make “guacamole” – it is what we call “faire du troc” J We are now anchored in front of the “ancient port” at the entrance of the Gulf of Ajaccio ready to decide whether to choose “gyn & tonic” or “dark & stormy" for our aperitif - cheers ! |
