Already we are in Les Saintes. Time flies! In Antigua, in Catamaran Marina we met other Discovery owners, Lisa and Cameroun on “Kiloran” who kindly invited us for an aperitif on their boat. Kim preferred to stay on board Knotty Girl but we had a nice time with them then had a delicious spaghetti bolognese prepared by Kim on board. At 7 am yesterday we had a great crossing onto Deshaies in Guadeloupe. When we arrived it was already busy but more boat anchored. Kim saw a “tortuga”for the first time in the bay !! It looked at night like a casino! Kiloran arrived a couple of ours later and we picked up Lisa to go and see the Botanical Garden but we were too late - never mind for next time! This morning we left Deshaies at 7 am and given that we were protected from the island we had little wind, we motored for the first time in many many weeks!! This allowed us to view well the cost of Guadeloupe that is very nice and green! When we arrived at the end of the Guadeloupe to cross to Les Saintes, the wind suddenly changed from 2 knots to 19 knots - very typical!! We arrived soon enough in Les Saintes to be able to pick up a boy in the baie where there is la “Plage du Pain de Sucre” - a charming beach. We all immediately went to snorkling and it was really rich in fishes of all colours, a “regal for the eyes”! Roberto then suggested that we did the ‘Chameau”hike which is basically climbing a mountain to see a fort. We climbed 300 meters very steep but but the view at each of the “virage”was absolutely incredible* (see below). Kim was soooo happy as we crossed many wild goats with their ‘petits” and chickens with their “petits’. Back down we had another quick swim before taking the dinghy to visit the charming village of ‘Les Saintes” were we took an aperitive - a rhum specialty which made Kim and I drunk so Roberto had to drive the dinghy back to Knotty Girl. I have no idea how Kim prepared an amazing “Poulet au curry”and I a potatoes salad for lunch tomorrow. Kim is now already in bed and I am going to go as soon as I am finished with this blog as I am exhausted !!
