MONTREAL TO SOREL(46:03.00N 73:07.70W)

We took Olivia for a short tour of Montreal, then dinner at the Yacht Club, and on 5.8 she left for Toronto, to meet up with her Canadian cousins.

7.8 we settled our bill at the Royal St Lawrence Yacht Club, they also had no water, much of the water in the Lakes is contaminated by the high water levels, and we have not had sweet water for some time. We set off down the St Lawrence River, and waited 2 hours for the first lock, a drop of 35ft, waited another 3 hours for the second lock, another 18 ft drop, and anchored after motoring 31nm at Varennes, by an amazing church with 2 silver spires. We saw several more of these silver spired churches over the next few days.

 8.8 we set off at 0845, and were amazed to see a Hong Kong registered ship at the Sorel docks, we texted Olivia, and it was one of her company ships, the Atlantic Spirit, she wished she was still aboard. From Sorel we go up the Richelieu river.
