I was minding my own business painting a piece of wood I am using for engine
mount at about midday (3 coat) when 2 guys walk the docks, it had already
been an interesting morning with some Americans down for 4 days of fishing,
and seeing their excitement.
But these two guys stopped and asked a question immediately Australians,
they are surfers from La Libertad that Sharon off "Sunsenation" had met on
Monday, and told them about here.
So we started talking one Nick is a Navy Architect who is in his 30s but has
already sailed a boat from Florida to Australia, was trying to do it this
year ran into issues and decided to surf Central America instead. We talked
about many things all afternoon, turns our he was in the same class and
roomed with Brad Hillman my brother inlaw's brother. They are hoping to
hitch a ride with a boat down the coast to Panama, surfing where they can.
We put them in contact with a couple of possible boats, we will see not sure
if the timing will work, but interesting and great to spend time talking and
catching up. But it amazes me how small the world is.
The boys Sean and Alex are sick with a stomach bug, and tomorrow we go to
San Salvador for 2 days will maybe head out into highlands to see some
villages on Saturday after violin.
I have achieved many jobs this week with the bilge pump, painting any
exposed wood for the Australian Quarantine, putting on the port covers for
rain on all ports, and installing 3 new fans, plus other things.
Good progress, another week we will be ready to go.
Tracy is doing well putting all the photos from this year into photo albums
for uploading to print off, this is all done on line now and she does a
great job, but a huge sorting labeling and arranging effort.
Stay tuned
