We are sitting at 6.2knots after a great run down the last 30 miles at 7 +
knots under full sail, both Sunsation and Gijima under full sail neck and
Neck same speed over land, I am very happy with Gijima's performance
especially when we have 13knots of wind and Sunsation is a 44 cat that
should like this point of sail. I am pleased John got his main out he has
not used it all in the last 1500 Nmiles, and he saw the improvement in
performance using it.
The gulf is nice looking water admittedly I am out at the entrance with 12
Nmiles to the entrance of the sub bay that holds Golfito, we should be in by
4 pm, and will do dinner on the town. Boys and Tracy are asleep for the
afternoon nap in preparation. The Osa Pensensula as we came down it was wild
as it is all reserve, we will go over and stay in lodges but as I look over
to the white beaches on the port side and lush green jungle extending down
to beaches it look very inviting. We are heading back out into the middle of
channel due to a very low tide and possible shoaling, allows me time to
complete making water so all tanks are full on arrival as we will probably
end up on a mooring here for a week as we have a number of jobs to do while
we have internet and services, while letting the boys explore, before we
will go out into the Gulf and explore.
This morning we left at 5 am moving out with the morning drizzle and found a
good sized short swell to go into for 14 miles before we turned south and
then found a 2 to 2.5 knot current against which we battled for 16 miles
until we could turn off and do a nice run down the coats under sail.
I know Tracy is looking forward to 3 nights of solid sleep admittedly she
did get a good night last night, but a rest she needs after this week.

This is one big Gulf it must be 4 miles wide and it is 30 miles long, should
provide some nice exploring for the next couple of weeks. But it is the sense of achievement and delight you get at entering a big bay, which is a destination you have been targeting for months, I think the last one was entering Banderus Bay approaching PV in Mexico. It is calm good wind sails up, sun shining how this life changes from bad situations (like 2 nights ago) to now, makes it all worth while.
Cheers stay tuned
