On day 3 we have spent the day re servicing the water maker and getting all
the initial installation issues I had done properly so no leaks and nice
clean system, plus we got many other jobs on done. Basically we close to
ready for the family and we will go into town tomorrow for the National Park
passes. We sorted out the dive tanks which means we have one good active one
on board as many people have them and it would be good to buddy with them.
Yesterday was an experience visiting the hardware stores and testing my 2
week old Spanish on getting some plumbing parts, lucky Ed with me he is
fluent in Spanish so we got through but I am learning fast, and it is a nice
challenge.
Looking forward to heading out again in a week for 4 to 5 weeks, which will
be nice around the islands, this is where I hope I will finally break free
and feel like I am cruising, people have said it takes 2 months and I
believe them. But life in La Paz is nice and bustling, yet lazy town, it is
an easy place for people to get stuck and a significant number do, they have
a whole boating community, even an 8 am Net (radio call in) where everyone
gets on and talks about events what is happening, even some boating stores
get on specials, people trade second hand parts between the community,
people check in and out. Many people have been here for years and they base
themselves here go out to the islands for 2 to weeks and then come back, our
neighbor has been here for 10 years, and ex fireman. They have all sorts of
event clubs and get together all a bit much activity but it is their life,
and many are stuck here now as they have trouble leaving the community and
cost of living is so low.
Stay tuned
