I am sitting at a horse arena watching the kids ride

We have discovered that they have horse stables near by and as it is quiet
we have an opportunity to have Sean takes some lessons, and Alex just loves
horses so he is juts getting a ride around and around,(the issue will be
getting him off the horse). Tracy will ride latter on beach. But as I sit
here this is like been in a Mexican/ Western movie set, you have the desert
hills surrounding with the desert scrub, and cactuses, with the red arena
with thatch roof, and sand in the center. The arena is surrounded by palm
trees with flowers and it is just us and some locals. Sean is doing well for
a first lesson, he is controlling the horse and it will build his
confidence.
Last night we went into the "Giggle Marlin" for happy hour and dinner, and
found a local jazz band of expats setting up, so we enjoyed some actually
good jazz live which was nice, the boys decided to dance all over the pub
floor but add good entertainment to the others in the pub. Yesterday we
spent the day playing with the train set and race cars, plus park in this
resort, all free so can't complain.
The weather is easing the storm has past, but we have another system coming
in which is messing up the swells, we will take a shot at it tomorrow
morning, if we find the swell too uncomfortable we will come back no big
issue as this is a nice place. But it has been a challenge picking a window
the key is no rush and that I am struggling with, but I just need to learn,
it will take time.
I am playing with a battery issue it seams like we have a bad battery, out
my 8 house, we are still trying to determine this but it seams to pulling
down the rest of the bank, we will continue to investigate and replace in
Mazatlan. This is all apart of stabilizing a boats energy system, no big
issue just want to sort it before the real heat as refrigeration causes
significant loads.
Today the wind is 15 to 20 and I hope the windwaves drop which has been an
issue on this sea, we trying to way this against the incoming swell which
has a long period, it is all a question of comfort, there is a significant
adjustment to cruising with kids your decisions are different, if I was with
Ed and crew we would have left today, and had a better sailing experience
with 20 + winds, but like all things we will learn, and understand the teams
limitations.
I am now at resort restaurant over looking a clear pool with a café, then
the beach, Tracy is galloping in off the beach on the horse and the boys are
playing in the pool, and the sun is out.
I could think of a lot worse places to be holding out.
