After arriving at 4.30am this morning in Turtle Bay (1/2 way down the Baja) we slept and had a great breakfast as usual by Steve, (Ed and I getting royal food treatment on this cruise). The day was a day of clean up, and fill up with 50 gallons of fuel brought out by Panga (easy) and then we ran the water maker to fill up made 60 gallons, and reviewed all systems, but the weather was superb with has up in the high 70s and light breeze and all clear and very calm, so out came the books and lazy time on deck. The new engine has gone well, we have double the hours on this trip from 62 to 132, no issues which is great. While we were making water we had an exhibition from local fish man come close (see pictures) catching sardines for bait for bigger fishing, they attracted 100s of birds, and they piled the sardines in while 10 feet off anchored Gijima. After all the house was sorted we went ashore to explore and found a sleepy town (asleep) all the restaurants were closed but we were able to get a couple of Pacificos (beers) out of one and sat over looking the town out over the bay. After picking up the much needed limes, we headed back to boat as we could not eat on shore and barbecued some Tuna steaks (caught yesterday) had these with asparagus and a nice Kiwi sauvignon blanc, as the final sun set. Tonight another good sleep, our plan is then to day sail for the next 3 days doing about 50 miles a day and explore the whale breading areas before starting the big jumps again.
