Today saw Tracy catch the buses to Wal Mart for a couple of items, I some how got the LPG bottles filled, completed more washing and then had the engine alignment done, (It is now running very smoothly). Amazing we got this much done here and it has been a good trip even got a parcel sent back to US with DHL, and the US Taxes done. We even broke out the mosquito covers for all the hatches and ports and fitted them all, and then pulled out the big cockpit Mosquito net and bought mosquito coils, Yes we have just started to see them, but we will see them a lot from now going south as we head to more jungle areas. It is not often you come in with a list of items and that you not only achieve this but go beyond, and now we have a boat ready for a good month to 2 months just touring, by that stage we will need to be looking at leaving. We are only waiting for my secondary filters which I really do not want leave with out as I am not sure where I can get them elsewhere so we may be here a day or two longer.

We met up with our friend Scott who was with us in Newport for 8 months and has now stopped and set up in Mazatlan, he loves the town and has started his ship woodwork business and is very busy, so is happy. He took us close to where we were in the Old Town last night but to a favorite of his which is very local, superb food, very basic, but just fantastic food, and cheap. It was two blocks back from the plaza and just a corner family run business, with all the Mexican actors over the wall, it was 6 tables we shared our table with a Mexican family who loved the boys. You can always tell a good place when it is full and full of locals, Scott and dropped into a bar around the corner for a beer and it was also a character. It was like the old tiled corner bar in an Aussie pub, but with bull heads mounted on the wall, and bull fights been shown, again a local favorite.

We are enjoying the old city the “golden Zone” is just full of North American people avoiding the winter, and is just hotels, but the Old Town is just so real, and feels genuinely Mexican. Sean and Alex met up with kids on the Plaza (square ) and did craft shapes, tonight the square we ate at last night had a sort of craft market also happening which added a different angle but there were a lot more tourists, but still very nice and European.

We will stay an extra day or so, determine our next path by talking with cruisers around here and wait for the parts and keep exploring Mazatlan.
