The winds down the coast have gone to 30 + knots and sees to 13 to 14 foot
at 8 seconds, which ugly so everyone is locked down in harbors along the
coast waiting for things to subside, we are still in Tenacatita Bay very
happy that we chose the weather window we did last weekend, as the boats who
decided to wait a couple of days in La Cruz had a rough initial day and are
now stuck in bays half way. We are here with our friends and calm and
playing.
Today we were back up the river entrance playing on the beach, Sean and I
went surfing in the lovely rock right-hand break, that we could get nice
rides. Sean's confidence grows even though he did get dumped for the first
time, but to spoend 1 on 1 time with him doing something I loved as boy and
seeing him grow is great.
We order amazing Cervishi from fish from the beach bar which run down set of
buildings set back under the palm trees, and even got garlic prawns, we had
this sitting on the beach, hard to take with a couple of beers.
The temperature the last couple of days in the sun has got to 97F (36 C)
outside with the breeze it is nice, we have put up the boat cover over the
bow which provides good shade, and funnels a good breeze over the boat and
down some of hatches, so in the boat we back at 78F (26 C) which is nice.
Pleased that this is working well, makes the whole experience enjoyable, we
hope that it will continue on as we go down the coast.
We are all expecting the weather window to move happening Saturday, it will
be a sad day leaving this lovely place, but also our good friends. But on
the beach today we planned our next encounters either south, Australia and
Africa, planning more dreams, and adventures we can do together, and with
Eyoni (Ethan, Nancy and Zada) we sure we will.
I am convinced that we all move forward in life by having dreams, and vision
that push us to go beyond our current position, and even when you are
"Living a Dream" you are creating your next dream, and this is exciting,
talking it through, and possibilities (ours is to do a land cruise through
Africa from South Africa to Kenya, we have so many friends and memories
there) but we have a long way to go on this one.
I continued to knock back some of the projects, the list rapidly gets small,
then you stop and think of the next batch of things. I have been looking at
a furler for the spinnaker so that we can pull it out easily, even with the
sock it is just too much effort that makes it to much effort that it is not
used. Especially when you have kids as really your partner (Tracy) is
occupied and it makes the sailing basically single handling, interesting all
the other kid boats are seeing the same. The furler is an idea we can work
on as we go forward another dream.
But Tenacatita was beautiful again to day with the forest around live with
birds and singing, (we had birds with snakes this morning on the beach) and
water clear, with this lovely right hand break, we were all able to relax, a
couple of boats came in and were beaten up and liked the atmosphere. If you
are coming down this way make this at least a week stop.
