Today was dedicated to transforming the boat from a dock boat with all the
toys that you use on land like bikes, kids bikes, and power etc. To a boat
ready for a month + out in the islands with a few fish town stop overs but
no docks for probably at least a month all on anchor (which I prefer as the
dock is rushed and too many tasks to do). At anchor the pace of life
changes, and the sense of space increases as well. All the toys we use are
canoes, / dinghies/ dive equipment and hiking stuff, so we swapped over the
layout of the outside ready for this change tomorrow.
We started with supplies at CCC (the local super market) we bought what
seemed enough for an army for weeks, but once we had brought it back to boat
taken out all the cardboard (due to cockroaches eggs been inside the last
thing you want on a boat is cockroaches), the items vanished into storage.
Next was external get the bikes fixed (we now had new parts which worked
great) we packed these away, and brought both dinghies on board, and cleared
decks (as much as you can with 2 kids).
For the last night in La Paz we went into town which the boys bikes and they
road around the pier and promenade at great speed, Sean chased local kids
and made friends. We then had a superb dinner on a street café, in a calm
evening, a great way to say goodbye La Paz (we will probably drop back in on
the way down).
In the photos you will see the boat in the slip, the boys playing with a
neighbors dog, riding in town, and then why we need a big watermaker the
boys in the bath on the boat( yes the boat has a full size bath tub,
critical for kids).
