We pulled in at lunch after a very good run, dropped the dinghy and went ashore, Sunsation anchored next to us. The bay is expansive, with good eco lodges and camps in the dense jungle, remembering this is one of the wettest places in the world. Initially we went looking for ice cream, and looking at houses in the small settlement which clings to the beach and cliffs. We then went along the beach exploring the creeks and again dropping into a bar etc, as walked around everyone knew who we where as we are the only two boats anchored others pangas. We went up a river for 2 miles it narrowed and is a true jungle run with trees on each side 100 feet high, vines hanging off. We saw many great birds eg kingfishers, tucans, herons, etc.

I think it was the fact that we spent 5 hours on shore in nice places and not rolling around, or on a beach just before the surf took it over that has appealed to us. The anchorage is still slightly rolly but a lot better, but we need to move on tomorrow due to been out of food, anchorage rolly and in 2 days bad weather coming in, and customs wants us before the end of the week. But we may come back from the other side as we explore the Osa Peninsula for the next couple of weeks.

Pleased we got to this place on a good day, tomorrow is again an early rise and 60 nM around the Osa Peninsula, not sure we will get Golfito tomorrow or close so we can get in Friday morning.

Stay tuned.
