Today we wanted to stay close to boat, we started off by getting fresh veggies from a back of van who pulled up at the Marina, and the produce was good and well priced. We then moved marinas to El Cid Marina which is part of a resort, it is cheaper but for us, it has far more facilities for kids, eg pools, play grounds and given I wanted to get some jobs done on the boat this was critical (as we docked or were attempting to dock the heavens opened up in a tropical storm like down pour, very strange for this time of year). We had a mechanic come down to check on a couple of items, mainly charging with the alternator on engine, and we determined a way to charge the house off the existing wiring, 10 minutes and no changes just a new procedure (I like these types of fixes). But he also recommended a engine alignment tuneup, it looks like we may have pulled on the shaft slight when we hit the lobster pot, suspect the coupling needs to made flush again, so this will be done Friday/ Saturday. I was able to complete the battery review and clean up, this means totally charging, equalizing the batteries and then cleaning and redoing all the connections to batteries, and this can only be done well while on a dock with power, we will see if this helps next week when we go out to the islands again.

We also did the major provisioning trip going to a huge store MEGA, and filling up, but now Tracy understands what she can get and what she needs, we still have plenty of fish, but it is the other areas. So 2 days in we have 80 % of the jobs done we wanted to do when we came into town, this is good.

Sean and Alex were happy as they found the pool actually a huge hot tub with a kids water slide to the next pool so they had a couple of hours doing that today, which was nice after the long day yesterday.

Tomorrow we want to explore the old city more.  We ran into an old friend at the MEGA store he is a Canadian, (Scott) who past through California 3 years ago, and spent 6 months close to us, spending thanksgiving and Christmas with us. At that stage he had his wife, and 2 boys, his wife was French, they had built their boat a 34 foot stel boat, since then they have split up and the family is in France and he has opened a business here. He looks and sounds well, and likes it here, it was good to catch up with him, and we will have dinner with him tomorrow.

It is a small world we have now run into 3 people we knew well from Newport times mostly Catalina.

So now we have to pack away the stores and get the now clean laundry away, so we can have the internal boat cleaned tomorrow, and then we can have a couple of days being tourist.
