We arrived about 4 pm yesterday afternoon in Golfito stopping at the Land Sea Marina (if you can call it that), it is a cruisers building with lounge and internet, laundry etc, with a dinghy dock, and 6 moorings, which we picked up one. It is run by Tim and Katie who orginate out of Newport Beach 18 years ago came cruising down the coast and found this place and never left, they have set up a crusier friendly place at reaonable rates unlike the rest of Costa Rica.
The water is calm, Tracy is happy, Golfito is in a sub bay of the Gulf of Dulce, so it is really well protected.
We went ashore had a couple of beers, and settled into the cruisers lounge seeing a number of our friends boats on the wall, (you can paint a mark of your boat on the wall, which we will do).
Tim gave us the low down on the way to go about things in town, as John and I are off for 2 to 3 hours of customers, and check in work today, after a nice cooked breakfast at a returant next door.
We had a great dinner at the Banana Marina next door last night, it was nice to just unwind.
Tracy wants to stay here a couple of days to rest, clean up, and get many things done ordered before we go back to US, I have paper work to do for going back in Australia, so we will do that for some time, and then go out an explore the Gulf of Dulce before coming back here in Dec to ship the boat.
The town hugs the shore line with mountains on all sides, it reminds us of some twons we saw in Chile (especially Chilowayo) where you have small colorful houses marinas, boats hanging over the water, and a lot of character.
I will take photos and post.
I will be posting photos this afternoon of the last couple of weeks.
Stay tuned.
