During this year I have had to pinch my self a few times, this afternoon wad another one of those moments. I was standing on the aft swim step, the sun was setting the orange of the setting sun was shining through and across the water, which had a gentle ripple. The orange light lit up the green jungle around me, the water below the swim step was green and blue clear and deep very inviting, the outside temperature is 82 or 27 and I can see Sunsation and Wahalie off to port. The evening sounds of splashes on the water coming from schools fish being chased by something, and birds sand out, and the monkeys howled their communication across the two headlands.
One thing I love about cruising is the outdoor shower, (same when I camping) you feel so at nature, with it not being cold, to just turn on the aft shower in this case cold, and apply the shampoo and just wash, while just absorbing the environment around, this is what I dream about when you are sitting in an uncomfortable plane etc, this will be one of those memory moments.
Since arriving in Costa Rica we have done what we love in cruising that is swim and play off the back of the boat in the water and then shower outside, we have not used the downstairs bathtub or shower for 2 weeks, that is what we wanted and have not really done it since leaving the Sea of Cortez.
This shower came after we had taken the boys in the canoes for a coastal paddle looking for birds and what ever, they enjoy it and it is lovely and peaceful. Just gliding along on the water, sliding under the arching trees over the water, 10 feet off the rocks, in about 5 to 10 feet of crystal clear water. Sean was in my canoe, he saw a baby blue heron in the trees above us, not worried about us, and then sliding under us a large spotted eagle ray in the clear waters below.
We paddled a couple of miles down seeing birds, insects, fish, Fire flies flashing in the rocks with the dark back ground. In the distance the thunder rumbled with the evening showers over the main land.
No one around, the boys have their charts for birds and fish and Sean is starting really pick up the different characteristics of the birds, while Alex matches the different birds between the real thing and chart. It is so real to them, they can only learn and grow.
For Tracy and I it is very special time, which we treasure.

The plan is now to leave Thursday tomorrow we dive for Sunsation's prop John filled a number of tanks, and we have already done a snorkel investigation but mow we must go deeper.
While so many of friends have had bad times weather in Costa Rica we have had just a wonderful time no matter what happens as we go south, we expect it to get wetter.
Stay tuned.
