The low pressure system which is holding us here is moving very slowly and
building but is heading east (opposite from what is expected) and is off the
Guatemalan and El Salvador bordered about 20 miles out. We will catch a good
rain tomorrow and wind as it should pass over us tomorrow. John from "Sun
Sensation" and I took our dinghy out over the bar this morning to see the
seas, and sure enough chop at 4 to 5 feet, short period and all over the
place, with big seas further out, no way we could get out, remember this is the
day we had planned to leave.
Tracy and I have reviewed it and over many discussions in the bar docks with
others Friday is the earliest, and given that we may as well give Sean
another lesson in violin he has come so far, and enjoy the party with his
violin group. So we will plan to leave either Sunday or Monday depending on
weather and customs, it will give us a day or so for the seas to really calm
down.
It will be an after noon leave so allows us to get the boys active in the
morning and then sleep in the afternoon and we will do an over night run to
Nicargua arriving first thing in the morning, and we can rest and sort
things out as I am sure things will not be all stowed correctly after 6
months in one place.
We were able to get the boys out on their bikes today and we went to a local
Tienda (store) for local pork puposus (El Salvadorian version of meat pie
but in a pancake like mixture) good eating. The boys could go along the edge
of the road, avoiding the cows who also transiting the road as well, (sure
they will not do that in many places).
We continue to do preparation jobs and get things better than they were when
we came down the Mexican coast, we have more room due to goods moving and we
know what is needed and what is not.
Finished the battery maintenance with equalization today, and am trying to
optyermise the freezer as this drew too much power on the way down and I am
sure it was to do with our settings as well as the outside conditions.
Let's see what this storm does tonight and tomorrow.
