I sit here on a call to the office (I am being involved in some discussions)
it is 7 am I am on the river, the jungle birds are singing and the sun is
rising over the 2 volcanoes to the East, silhouetting the cloud "table
cloths" that surround their peaks. We have got into a routine, and Tracy
worked most of yesterday on unpacking both cupboards (cleaning, and
repacking) with cloths from the trip and cloths coming back from the
Laundry. It is clear from discussing with others at happy hour that once a
year you need to do this clean out, wash and dry, and repack, and now we
know we will be in shorts and T shirt for the next 6 months, we can seal off
many cloths for 6 + months in bags.
It is a long job but needed, today I have to bring the watermaker to life
again, and un pickle it, and make water, I will play around with doing this
using the dock water as a source and putting it through the watermaker to
purify vs using the river water which is a lot more silty.
We are also looking at local suppliers for food so we get it fresh so we
avoid filling up the freezer so we negotiating with the fishing pangas to
bring us fresh Yellow Fin Tuna as they come in from fishing, and the prawns
are running so this is a good source.
But we returning to cruising boat life and in a comfortable feeling, and
updating pictures and books with Sean doing his journal.
Again it is amazing how life can be so simple yet very rewarding!!
