Location: Lima Peru (12:6.432S 77:3.600W)
We flew out of Santiago this morning in fog, saying good bye to a chapter of
this trip we have enjoyed for new places and experiences, and getting us
into the routine of daily land travel. The boys are now comfortable with
hotels, and bags, as long as we stop for a couple of days.
Arriving Lima the cloud cover is the cold currents are effecting the coast
(San Francisco style) but we got out and went to park, and watched the
Brazil soccer match in a Brazilian bar, lots of atmosphere. Then a town tour
for orientation around Miraflores (suburb of LIMA). It was nice on the top
deck of a bus, and we saw a lot more, and places to go back. But we are back
in what Tracy and I call Latin American city, like Mexico, and central, we
have left the European like cities of BA and Santiago (which were nice). The
thing we like here is the small restaurants and smoking is easier here as we
find there is less than down South so we can take the boys into restaurants
and not be out on the street.
We are here 3 days before going on to Cusco.
Now we doing the planning for the next 6 weeks to cover what we want.
Time for bed.
