We have arrived! Chiscos and her crew successfully
completed our Atlantic crossing yesterday in 20 days, 12 hours, 16 minutes and
36 seconds! We arrived in St Lucia at lunchtime yesterday.
What a fantastic experience! We had a wonderful
crossing - no real hiccups and apart from suffering from a lack of wind
during the last few days (and very nearly running out of diesel) the trip went
very well.
We were met, as we came into Rodney bay, by our friends
off Kealoa 8 who came out in their rib to welcome us home. Then as we
talked to the berthing manager at the marina we were delighted to find we were
allocated a berth next to our other friends on Arnamentia.
The welcome in St Lucia has been fantastic. Nearly all
of the boats we have become acquainted with are now in, and we have spent the 24
hours since we arrived catching up with old (new) friends.
The radio skeds on the ssb have been a great source
of entertainment and we have also spent time finding other boat crew who we met
on the radio, talked to everyday and are now able to put faces to
names. The only complication is that we know them as their boat name, not
as Rob or Tim etc. But it has been great to meet them
all.
The majority of the talk now is what will happen next.
Where are you going, when do you leave, should we meet in Antigua, the BVI
or elsewhere on this fabulous trip!
More photos of the trip will be added
shortly.
