We had a rather mixed crossing. The first 150 miles of so, we had the wind forward of the beam and gentle seas. We made good progress.
The crew had a go at using the extensive fishing equipment we have on board.
But to no avail. We caught nothing!

The night was then very mixed. Twice, strong winds came up from the east which only lasted about an hour and then left a sloppy sea. Eventually we rolled all the sails away and motored the last 50 odd miles into Santa Cruz.
We arrived in La Palma at first light this morning - which in keeping with much of Spain - seemed quite late! (about 8.15 am)

La Palma seems a pleasant island. We moored at the new marina in Santa Cruz. I took the precaution of pre-booking a space via email before we arrived,  but I think I needn't have bothered!

After something to eat and a good shower we went off to explore the town.
The Spanish cafe culture pervades throughout the small town.

The town had a nice feel to it, although we were a little concerned about these outside one shop!!

Tomorrow we plan to walk the (I hope!) extinct volcano.
