A busy day at sea:
Flagging sails and a struggling autopilot woke me up about 9 o'clock.
Spent half an hour trimming the sails, set the hydrovane, manage to gain about 1 knot :-), due North :-(
Checked the food store, we may be stuck out here for a while so let's make sure we have enough for the next 10(?) days.
Checked the engine oil and topped it up.
We emptied 3 jerry cans of diesel in the fuel tank, trying not to make a mess on deck.
Tried a tack, it would have taken us back south-east to Portugal, tacked again (that is enough exercise for today).
We saw a whale, started the engine and ran away (they ARE huge animals).
Wrote a few lines in my diary, and now this email.
It's now 3 o'clock in the afternoon... what a busy day, if I wasn't on watch, I would have a nap /Regis
