We managed to prise ourselves away form the beach at Havelock early this morning and motored north to the Button Islands some 15 miles away. They are tiny outcrops in the middle of nowhere. At North Button we anchored in 40ft of water with the bottom and the anchor clearly visible and snorkelled in this superb water. The reef goes into the shore at low tide making the white sand beach unreachable and there was some roll so we have decided to move on for tonight's anchorage but it is an amazing spot. Sam spotted a young leopard shark and a sting ray but Guido and I were not so fortunate - a great snorkel anyway.
