Blue Note took a biting.
This morning as the wind start to come down I shook the 3rd reek leaving the second.
I noticed a 1 to 2 feet rip near the leach just below the 2nd reef.
Not sure how it happen. I suspect it was the line bringing down the leach of the 2nd reef that pinched the sail under and cause the start of the rip.
I thought it was safe to continue using the main with the 2nd reef since the rip was in a section below the 2nd.
Unfortunately I was wrong and few hours later as wind went back for a moment to 20 kt, the rip propagated to above the 2nd reef.
Reduced now the main down to 3rd reef (well above rip).
Still sailing well with reef jib and staysail  in 15 kts doing 6.2 kts on a close hauled course.

Not happy about the rip in mainsail.
And not happy I did not reef down to 3rd as soon as noticed.
I guess lesson learn.

Riccardo is doing better but still not 100%. He has upgraded himself from the cockpit (too wet last night with 27kt wind gusting to 30kt
on a close hauled course) to the aft-cabin. He occasionally smiles too :)
For sure right now Riccardo wish he was back on his terrace in Roma eating some of the delicious dishes his wife Paola makes.
But what about the experience .... to feel seasick 600 NM from any land :)
You can't have that in Roma.

The new acrylic  splash prevention, to avoid water on the new finished floor while cleaning dishes.
Easy fold and store away while not in use.
