The crossing of the Gulf-stream yesterday went well and was uneventful. After the crossing we did not follow a rhumb line for St. Thomas
but rather kept a 185-190M course in order to stay west of the low pressure that is south. The same low pressure was upgraded this morning to tropical storm Sean and it is expected to move North-North-east in the next couple of days. So staying at a fare distance on the west was
a good choice. At night the wind increased to 25-30 knts and we sailed in a very comfortable broad reach very fast with a peak average
speed over a 2 hours period of 8.3kt. This morning the wind increased to 30kts gusting to 35kt and we are now to the third reef in the main sail. We also got some warm rain but right now the sun is back. No fishing yet since it would be a "bit problematic" bring in a catch
with 30 kts wind and a boat doing 7-8kts. ... Fishing will have to wait for tomorrow or the day after tomorrow when the wind are expected to
decrease quite a bit.
