We are now in the cold waters of the east coast of the US.
Last evening around 6pm the wind finally arrived and we sailed with the spinnaker up during a dinner with "pasta alla carbonara".
The wind continued to increase in strength during the night, so we first switched to jib and mainsail and ended up, with winds 20-25kts in the middle of crossing the Gulf Stream, with one reef main and a partially furled jib. Between the wind and the Gulf push we reached an average speed, over a two hours period, of 8.3kts and a 24h sailed distance of 172 miles.
