The winds died yesterday and we had to motored in a calm Atlantic towards the New Jersey shore.
Many times dolphin kept us company until sunset.
The stretch from Barnegat Bay to the entrance of the Ambrose channel was done at dark with a thick fog and we were very happy to have both AIS and a good radar
since there were a number of small fishing boats going out without AIS. Channel 16 was quite busy with the big tug boats calling all the AIS deprived vessels and
trying to find out what they were doing, following which course and at what speed.
The best was a selling vessels without radar or AIS and with his captain not quite sure about his GPS coordinates
(looks like he had GPS inside the boat but his radio was outside). The tugs had hard time trying not to run him over.
As soon as we arrived we refuel (58 gallons) and went for lunch at my favor Pakistan restaurant in Jersey City.
Louis was a great crew and company for the trip, eager to learn all the secrets of Blue Note and to read all the sailing books I have on board.
He found most intriguing and good "The physic of sail explained" by B.D.Anderson.
He never refused to get the spinnaker out and did it always with enthusiasm.
He is now on a water taxi to NYC for some rest and fun night life with his many NYC friends.
