Title: Atlantic Crossing - More Sailing. . . .. . .

10:01.11, 14:05.99N 55:45.98W

The wind has turned more to the north so hoping it will stay in NE for another 2 days - if this is the case then we don't need to touch any sails to go straight to St Lucia (fingers crossed).  A couple of squalls this morning with the usual downpour and 30+ knot winds - Adam was asleep, Susie in the cockpit driving - I was proud that I managed to reef the headsail in good time and Adam didn't actually wake up so quiet was I (I was proud of that - although it could have been that Adam was just really tired) , I saw the wall of water coming from a distance at least so got ready early.  It was really hot this morning so it was nice being out in the rain! Adam appeared after his sleep and wondered why the hatches were shut and the cockpit wet.

Had some fun after finding water in the bilges - at least we determined after a while that it was fresh water not salt water, but we'll have to look more once we get there - we think it could be water that has been trapped in various places in the bilget after we have overfilled water tanks that has finally worked its way out after the shaking around that we all got yesterday.  Today since we have turned we have been moving fast but thankfully the sea has all been in one direction so much more smooth.

We're now daring to hope that we reach land in 2 to 3 days depending on the wind, we didn't really want to think about it too much til now as there was such a long way to go - but now with less than 300 miles to go the end is coming into sight  - good job since our stock of potatoes and onions are trying to grow and the green peppers we bought in Mindelo have turned red even in the fridge.
