Quick visit to Pointe a Pitre to collect some parts for our watermaker which died after just 6 months use down in Martinique - at least they were sent out under warranty and the watermaker is now back in operation.

Being anchored in Pointe a Pitre is a bit of a change to being anchored off an uninhabited island in the Saintes - it's more like Southampton docks as it is a commercial port.  It rained solid for 2 days in Pointe a Pitre so we used the time to fix the water maker, pick up some other spares we needed and visit the big supermarkets.  Apart from that we got very wet and had a pile of wet clothes for when we left but didn't do any sight seeing as such.

We'll try and drop in again on Guadeloupe on our way back south but that will be to visit the Cousteau Marine reserve which we definately want to dive, the mountains on the western island look very impressive being rugged and covered with rainforest - but we were keen to have a change from 'France' and head up to Antigua and St Martin at the northern end of the Leeward Islands.
