Sunday June 15th, 2008 saw us all go to the
Catholic Church in Neiafu, Vava'u to listen to the singing. It was fantastic
with the choir and the congregation singing to ever new heights as they
harmonised and sang beautifully. The sermon was in Tongan as were all the songs
however several of them we recognizable from my childhood and while the words
were different the tunes were familiar.
Monday 06:30 we slipped the mooring lines and in
company with Storyteller & Kealoha headed for Lautoka, Fiji about 3 and a
bit days a way. The wind is not as forecast and instead of a broad reach, we
have the nearly aft and with only the mainsail up we are motoring downwind at 8
knots rocking & rolling. Bloody awful way to sail.
Looking forward to Fiji, as Gabby, Richard and our
two grandchildren Hudson & Cooper arrive for a 10 day visit. Hudson will be
just turned 4 and Cooper 11 months. This will be our first visit with
Cooper and we can't wait.
Noon to day saw us abeam LATE ISLAND and about 40nm
down range from Neiafu.
Irene and I are on our own for this trip so it will
be 2 on and 2 off for the next few days.
Cheers
JH
