Last night was COLD!!!!
I met a hugely friendly drunk (Brett) in the camp kitchen, who wanted to
buy my painting (If I could just meet more hopeless drunks I could sell
hundreds). Brett is a house painter, and was up with the lark next morning
to get off to work (“there’s more work than I know what to do with”)
Our neighbours Pamela and Ron parked a bit too close for comfort, but it
was only their second time backing their truck into a space. They showed
me around their tent – HUGE!! It’s a camper trailer that folds out into a 2
storey palace, you go up a staircase (not a ladder) to bed on the
mezzanine!
Tamworth is Australia’s country music capital, sadly we are missing the
annual festival by 2 weeks, but we did go to a great museum and see Slim Dusty’s
guitar. And we were moved to begin writing a country and western song of
our own about the trip, which is going to while away quite a few hours on the
road. |
