Murgon
A memorial was held today for the 20 people lost in the Toowoomba floods in
the Lockyer Valley (3 still missing), exactly a year ago. We drove over
the Bjelke Petersen dam, it’s a huge amount of water, really beautiful
today. It must have been terrifying when a wall of water crashed over the
whole area.
Yesterday all the locals were complaining about the heat, where we bush
camped in Murgon, and talking about how different it was during the floods a
year ago. We were lovely and cool in our mozzy net tent, in a shady
woodland campsite with parrots
everywhere. |
