Sandyâs musings in Fagaras â dinner in âthe Corner Restaurantâ â 8 guys at next table (see illustration) all built like wardrobes, short back & sides baseball caps on back to front, all using laptops, American accents â all smoking â must be marines â wonder where their base is?  We donât see any evidence of bases along the road so they must be well hidden. 

 

More about bush camp at Jirlau â well, we survived our first night unscathed.  The 2 elderly people looked like peasants â shepherd with thimble shaped hat, lady in long skirt, shawl , headscarf, craggy faces, smiley but didnât seem to understand a word we said in either English or Russian!  The 8 dogs barked all night in Romanian,Next morning the 2 young guys galloped back and got on with shepherding & we packed up and said bye bye â job done!  Next stop Ukraine!
