Triathlon day, Melbourne

 

Jen and I were up just before light, and cycled down to Albert Park on the lake, for the Pink Triathlon (quite like Race for Life, very girly and supportive and makes heaps of money for breast cancer research).  Jen did the biggie, 6 laps of the pool, cycle 9k, run 3k, and I did the intermediate one (4 laps, 6k, 2k)  It sounds dead easy but it SOOO wasn’t, it was hot and humid and gritty and really hard work.  But for 2 first timers we were pleased we did it, Jen came 10th out of 42 in her age group, I was second out of 2 in my age group!!  Sandy and Ben jogged down to the park to support us, Ben then raced off for a day of golf, and Sandy and Jen cycled/ran back with one bike between 2, I pleaded weakness and got a bike to myself, and we’re still drinking gallons of water at 6pm.  Melbourne sure is a hot place.
