We entertered a very tranquil and beautiful wilderness , with red ibis flying by and monkeys growling in the jungle, we made our way up river until at 3pm the tied changed and it was time to drop anchor , there were a few boats speeding by on there way to and from Pendales but apart from that it was just us , sundowners were on our boat as we had the room and we planned our route for the next day . Morning was glorious and we all lowered our dingys and went up a small little inlet in the jungle , it was breathtakingly beautiful and peacefull , at 11 am the tide was with us and we were on the move again , as we came around the bend in the river there was a small settlemet and within minute people started to paddle out in there canoes , this was our first experience of the indans , we had made up loads of little bags for the children containing paper , pencils sharpeners , rubbers ect as well as toothbrushes , hairbrushes , hairbobbles and hairbands , these people were desparatelypoor with little or no clothing and on lady who I bartered a load of melemine plates and mugs shyly asked ir I had any "ropa" we worked out this meant clothes and indeed I did , and I did a fashion parade for everyone on the side of the boat which caused great hilarity and everyone picked a piece of clothing that they liked , all to soon it was time to move on and we came across many small children paddling furiousely out to the boats inlittle dugout canose and for all the men saying we are not stopping any more , we did and gave each child a treat .
