this fiesta has been great and continues to be so , but , it does go on till 6am and we are right next to it and we are getting no sleep! Yesterday we strolled in the square for a coffee and everyone was dressed up in traditional costume , it was just a lovely sight , also the temperature was a lovely 85 degrees ( sorry , had to slip that in!), at 2pm everyone lined the one main street and a procession of dancers and little floats made there way down , from what we could gather it is like a harvest festival , everyone had little baskets of food which they shared with everyone else , we tasted a little dough ball that I was told was made from sugar and fruit and bread spead with a very tasty cheese type spread. All afternoon everyone was drinking eating , playing music , the atmosphere was fab , we went into the main arena at 10pm to watch a reggae band which were very good , watch a very impressive firework display . the whole place was packed and everyone were very very drunk , but the handfull of policemen had very little to do as everyone was having so much fun .As a direct contrast this morning, they had a pigeon fanciers award ceromony , all the little pigeons in their cages with rosettes and awards , the last thing I expected to see .
