We left Sines full of excitement , there was no wind at all and although the whole rally put up their sails to cross the start line we all knew it was going to be a day on the motor , Barry and Robbie put on 'queen' full blast and were dancing on the aft deck v excited ( this was 7am!) and then we were off ! we crossed the line and then banged the motor on full speed and were finally on our way . we lead the fleet for most off the day , the boys got over their excitement , succumbed to exhaustion and slept all day on the back deck with their duvets !4 miles fron Cape St Vincent we prepaired the boat as there can be some huge gusts of up to 50 knots, by this time Bali Hai and Bazouki were ahead of us as we turned into the cape the wind speed went up to 40knots and we had an exhilerating sail all the way to Lagos . As we all arrived in succession and moored up we got the pontoon party on the go , we were dressed as pirates and I as cruella de ville ( this was the only fancy dress I had on board , well space is at a premium!)and as we all delved into our boats for nibbles and cocktails it was a great end to fab rally
