Plan A was to take a tender and a dingy to a deserted beach beach only accessible by sea and bbq all day and build a bonfire, so we all cooked up a feast and fully loaded with all the comforts needed for a day in the wilderness  ( Mal . Lydia and Calvin and the boys and us ) set off but the swell was too great for the tenders as we would have been landing onto boulders and it was looking a tad too dangourous , so we resorted to plan B ,which was to haul all the gear to the beach next to us in the marina , Calvin got the BBQ going , Chris and James collected all the driftwood on the beach for our fire and we proceeded to have marvelous afternoon/evening eating delicious kebabs , chops prawns , and much more all day ,finishing off with a homemade apple pie , we had a great day  , good food , good company and the sun shone all day , a bit of sand would have been nice but Madeira is a volcanic island and boulders are all that is pretty much on offer !, but it is a beutiful island, and we all enjoyed oursellves thoroughly!
