We had a plan and it was a very good plan .. we were going to make our way to Trinindad and only stay for 3 days to catch up with some good friends of ours and then we were going off to Bonaire... well that was the plan, but as always with a plan it gets changed , Trinindad was ok, a bit sore on the eyes and industrial after all the beautiful places we have been but as a working port and marina we were able to get a few jobs done , we took a trip with some friends to the Asa Wright bird sancuary set in lush tropical rainforest and saw a, huge amount of the most beautiful, and rare birds the day ended in a boat going through a swamp with red ibis and caymen and snakes in the trees , truly a great day out.
Back on the boat that evening in the anchorage we had had a good dinner and were really tired when there was shouting and screaming form the boat behind( german) twp women were screaming that they had been attacked!we told them to stay calm and we would phone the police and coast guard which we did, we opted not to go over to there boat as lots of cruisers here carry arms and we didn't want to get in the middle of anything, I kept a light shining on the womenand kept them calm and thenthe coastguard came up by our boat ( all blacked out , frightened the life out of me)and asked what had happened , they made there way over to the german boat at which ppoint the women screamed their lungs out , next thing the coastguard were shouting for everyone to get down on their knees the women and two ment with their hands behind their heads as they proceeded to put a gun at each persons head and cock them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, now I thought there was going to be a bloodbath if the men put up a fight( which sensibley they didn.t), anyway after 45mins they removed one of the men , the two women and 15 binbags and boxes ( yes I was counting)  what a night ?
Anyway back to the plan , someone mentioned how close we were to the Orrinocco and the tribal indians that live there who barter and have dug out canoes , so with no real time to spare we agreed to go with our good friends from Quetico, Arog Nevis and Indian Summer for a real adventure to find the Warreo Indians , I had a vague idea of bartering my pressure cooker for a dug out canoe it would make a great planter in the garden ! So with a little trepidation we went south into deepest Venezuala instead Of East to Bonaire what an Adventure it turned out to be............

the last picture is of a very poisonous snake up in a tree waiting to drop on some unsuspecting visitor......
