This tourist lark is seriously hard work if you allow the family members to dictate the pace. In two days we have visited the Fortress of St Peter and Paul, where we saw the tombs of umpteen past Tsars, including those of most of those family members murdered 99 years ago. Museum and prison where political prisoners - before and after the revolution - were held. Jailers became the jailed.  Memo to self - be careful who you lock up!
Church of the Spilled Blood, Alexander Square, The Winter Palace, St Isaac Cathedral, the metro and today The Peterhof Palace - the Versailles of Russia.  Breath taking - by but with the rest of the country permanently starving, we're surprised a revolution took so long to come..
Seb flew out today. Skipper foiled an attempted pick pocket, and in celebration fixed the boat (troublesome short in the nav light wiring) in the most exotic place yet.
More later. Will see if bandwidth will support the posting of a photo or two...
