Friday. Another leisurely start, and a visit to the fishmonger before getting under way by midday. A gentle reach soon materialised into a steady NW4, giving us a close fetch down the Ria (phot). As it grew to WNW5-6, calling for two slabs in the main and rolls in the genoa, Hugh enjoyed it more and more (phot), and so did the girls – honest! (phot). Before we reached Ilas Ons, the staysail had replaced the genoa, but our anchorage off Playa de Mellda beach (phot) gave us good shelter. Ashore, the skipper and mate found fauna and simple living (phots); while surveying the anchorage as we returned to the boat, Robert developed a taste for the lead and line (phot). Guess how we dined….
