Sunday. A most gentle sail under a brilliant blue sky and hot sun for the final few miles to Portosin, our planned crew change port. En route we anchored for lunch in an unspoilt bay (phots) – and considering it’s a weekend, it’s amazing to find that only one other boat came in and the beach was practically deserted. We swam, ate and snoozed to our hearts content before weighing and then ghosting the remaining 3 miles to our destination – the crew were suitably relaxed (phot).

Portosin’s marina (phot) offers everything we need – including a laundrette for the skipper! And the beers were suitably cold on the yacht club’s veranda (phots). Note the reflection in the windows…it’s a tough life here!

Sadly, it is now goodbye to Chris, Mike and Tim. We’ve had a terrific week, with conditions ranging from what we might have normally expected in the Channel (rough, cold, poor viz) to those more akin to the tropics (phot). And what a crew Aquila has had – she says please come back next year! The skipper now has a couple of days to do a few chores and prepare the boat for his next crew - and as that includes the Mate, he'd better turn-to sharpish!
