WHAT DID THE ROMANS EVER DO FOR US?

Tuesday: While awaiting our new crew, the Mate and skipper went sightseeing- first stop was a trek to the ‘other’ Pillar of Hercules (phot). The Romans first built a watchtower here in the first century, and Julius Caesar apparently embarked from here in AD61 (not sure to where..). Won’t bore you with all the bits in between, but the current tower (phot) now has the reconstructed original Roman one (phot) encapsuled within it. Canny brickies, those Romans…. Good views of A Coruna from the top too....(phots)
