The past 36 hours have given us fabulous sailing conditions: a soldier's wind bang on the starboard beam, force 3-4.  In consequence we have recorded our best noon-noon run yet:158.4nm.  Mind you, we have only been going for 6 days, so with a bit of luck this opening gambit will be demolished soon after we leave Bermuda in about a week's time.

With the log consistently showing 7+ knots, the Duogen has been churning the amps out; indeed, to such an extent that we have been taking it out of the water for hours at a time.  There is a heat sink to soak up the excess, but with the cabin rather warm during the day we would prefer not to add to the temperature.

The wind is forecast to back as a front approaches from the west; we expect rain to catch us by about 2200.  However by that time we should be rounding the southern tip of the island, and maybe make St George's around breakfast time on Sunday.

The mate has a go at the skipper's wayward hair.  He now only has one ear...........
